Abadía de Poblet Blanco 2018 75cl.

Abadía de Poblet Blanco; the aim of this white wine is to reflect the terroir from which it comes, so during its production we try to be as minimally interventionist as possible. The centuries-old vines chosen for the production of Abadia de Poblet Blanco are located between 550 and 700 meters above sea level, on poor land and with ancestral practices that have changed little since their plantation. A wine with body and notes of ripe fruit is born.   Prizes and scores:

Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: Macabeo and Parellada.   The only intention of Abadía de Poblet Blanco is to reflect the territory and terroir from which it comes, so during production we try to be as least interventionist as possible. The grapes are chosen at the entrance to the vineyard at the time of harvest, in small 16 kg boxes. Upon arrival at the winery, it is pressed and the Macabeo must is racked and transferred to a cement ink where it will ferment at a controlled temperature around 16oC. Once the fermentation is finished, it is transferred to extract the thickest lees, leaving the finest ones. During the first two months of aging, one battonage is done per week and from then on, static aging is carried out. The grapes used for Abadía de Poblet Blanco come from vineyards planted during the first half of the 20th century, in areas that had historically been vineyards, but in which the cultivation of cereals alternated between the rows of vines and with almond trees planted at the edge of the vineyards, thus bringing together the three typical Mediterranean crops of Conca de Barberà. controlled around 16ºC. Once the fermentation is finished, it is transferred to extract the thickest lees, leaving the wine clean for static aging in vats.

TASTING

View:

Pale yellow with reflections of new gold.

Nose:

The nose highlights its subtle but complex aromatic expression, ripe white fruits, mountain herbs, sweet spices, on a background of toasted bread.

Mouth:

In the mouth it has a salivating acidity with a glyceric and body sensation, without weight due to its elegant acidity. Long and persistent.
