Description
PREPARATION
Cardenal Mendoza Angêlus was created by the foreman of Bodegas Sánchez Romate, with the intention of transmitting the orange blossom fragrance that enveloped the winery's patio every spring. That essence, mixed with the aromas of matured sherry wines and brandies, was what the foreman felt Jerez de la Frontera personified. Using the classic Cardenal Mendoza brandy as a base, Angêlus is made by mixing the essences of natural ingredients, mainly bitter oranges and orange peel and cardamom, and aging the mixture in casks already seasoned with Sherry to achieve a perfect balance. The maceration of the natural ingredients and the distillation process are carried out in a prestigious distillery founded in 1824 and famous for its traditional bain-marie process.
TASTING
View: Bright mahogany color with bright amber reflections.
Nose: Fresh and intricate notes of citrus and spices evoke sweet and spicy aromas of dried fruits.
Mouth: It offers an explosion of citrus notes, with a lot of bitterness from bitter oranges, a sophisticated touch of spice and a light toasted note, all balanced by some sweetness. The ending is seemingly endless.
