Description
PREPARATION
The Dalwhinnie 15 Years Whiskey is left to mature for a period of 15 years in specially selected barrels. It belongs to Dalwhinnie Distillery, located in the Scottish city of Dalwhinnie, a name that derives from the Gaelic Dail-coinneeamh, which means “Meeting Place.” Dalwhinnie is Scotland's highest and coldest distillery and was founded in the late 19th century. Dalwhinnie Scotch is the only Highland whiskey that offers a combination of clean, easy-drinking sweet malt flavors with a smooth, smoky warmth.
TASTING
View: Golden color.
Nose: Large, fresh, dry and very aromatic nose with notes of heather and peat.
Mouth: Soft, light to medium body. Smooth, long-lasting flavors with the sweetness of heather honey and vanilla followed by deeper flavors of citrus fruits and hints of malted bread. Long, persistent, surprisingly intense finish that starts sweetly and then gives way to smoke, peat and malt.
