PREPARATION

Ouzo 12 took its name in 1880 at the Kaloyannis Distillery of "Barrel No12". This extract was preferred for its rich flavor and delicate aroma. To this day, it continues to maintain the same flavor that makes Ouzo 12 one of the most consumed varieties of this traditional Greek anise spirit throughout the world. Its production is mainly manual and it is made from ripened grapes, alcohol and anise that, together, give off its characteristic licorice aroma. The consumption of these aniseed alcoholic beverages is very common in Mediterranean countries. This ouzo was the result of selected seeds and herbs that were harmoniously mixed and subjected to a double distillation process resulting in an exceptional ouzo with a very rich flavor.
It originated in Constantinople, now known as Istanbul, in 1880. Over the years it has established itself as the most popular ouzo brand in the world, always remaining faithful to its original recipe. Ouzo 12 has been part of the Campari Group since 1999.
