Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo and Graciano.
To prepare the Ramón Bilbao Reserva 2016 red wine, pre-fermentation macerations were carried out for 3-4 days, post-fermentation for 5 to 7 days, pump-overs and daily bazuqueos. It was not filtered or clarified until the end. It was aged in American barrels from Missouri and Ohio for 20 months and a further 20 months in the bottle. The grapes used come from vineyards on different estates located in Rioja Alta, obtained from vines more than 40 years old planted in glass in sandy and sandy loam soils.
TASTING
View: Garnet red color. Medium high intensity. Clean, bright and with the presence of tears.
Nose: High intensity, notes of black fruit and fresh red fruit. Aromas of sweet spices, vanilla, pastries, cumin, hints of menthol and scrubland.
Mouth: Fresh, intense, good acidity, ripe tannin and integrated alcohol. In retronasal it reminds again of red fruit and sweet spices.
Recommended temperature: 17-18ºC.
