Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: RubyRed, Rubicabernet and Muscat of Alexandria.
Dubonnet Rouge was created in 1846 by Sir Joseph Dubonnet, a Parisian wine merchant and chemist, who managed to make his patented blend a popular medicinal aperitif throughout the world. Today, they continue to be made from that proprietary recipe containing four factors that create the iconic Dubonnet flavor: A red wine base made with a distinctive blend of RubyRed, Rubicabernet and Muscat of Alexandria grapes provides a rich, balanced flavor; a proprietary blend of herbs and spices containing, among other ingredients, blackcurrant and essence of tea varieties that provide flavor complexity and powerful body; cinchona tree bark, an original medicinal ingredient derived from the bark of the cinchona tree that provides a note of dry tannin and 100% cane sugar, which adds a touch of sweetness.
TASTING
View: Scarlet red color with dark reflections.
Nose: Acid aromas, with hints of pine, unripe grapes and stone fruit.
Mouth: The palate has a tone of autumn fruit and a refreshing bitterness.
