Finca El Maldito 2019 75cl.
Only when the terroir and the vintage allow it, and making a great selection of some specific plots, does Finca El Maldito red wine emerge. A wine of which there is currently only one vintage, 2012, and which went on the market with 230 bottles when the Martínez Palmero family decided what was the optimal time for consumption. This wine is a simple tribute to the man who cared for and cultivated the plots where the winery and its fields are located today. A tough man, like Rafael “El Maldito”, who lived for 104 years in Ahillas.

Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: Bobal, Tempranillo, Prieto Picudo and Mencía.
The grapes used to make the Finca El Maldito 2019 red wine were made as a whole from its harvest, with Bobal predominating but also consisting of a minimum percentage of Tempranillo, Prieto Picudo and Mencía. Its preparation was controlled by fermentation in tanks at 26ºC for a period of 3 weeks, where only manual bazuqueos were carried out. It is aged in new French Allier oak barrels, with medium plus toasting. Its stay in the barrel is 14 months, and in the bottle it has yet to be determined. The Martínez Palmero family has been producing their wines in an artisanal way since 2002. They started in a garage with 100 bottles, and today they make 22,000 of their 5 wines in the Ahillas Valley, whose lands have been cultivated since the ancient Muslims occupied the Iberian Peninsula.
TASTING
View: Violet notes along with a powerful opaque color, which tells us about the structure of the wine. A very slow and colorful tear.
Nose: Intoxicating, with nuances that remind us of ripe cherries and blackberries, it is balsamic and mineral. We find some leather and toasted notes.
Mouth: Very pleasant entry, with a very pleasant sensation of tannicity that is surprising given that it is a wine from our latitude. The aftertaste is very long, and flavors of ripe strawberries, blackberry and licorice appear.
