Scala Dei Masdeu 2016 75cl. - Case
Scala Dei Masdeu 2016 is a single vineyard wine, one of the oldest vineyards of Scala Dei, one of the vineyards that the Carthusian monks already worked. With it, a production heritage that had disappeared in Priorat has been recovered, and that consists of making wine as it was made during the 70s or before. It is one of the wines with which we intend to show the different faces of Garnatxa in Scala Dei, depending on its altitude, soil and production. Prizes and scores:
- 94 Peñín points
- 96 Parker points
- 92 Suckling points
Presentation: Bottle with wooden case.

Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 100% Garnacha. With Scala Dei Masdeu we wanted to recover a production heritage that existed in Priorat and that takes us back to the first bottlings of Cellers de Scala Dei. Thus, having investigated how those bottles from the 70s had been made, the Masdeu has been vinified. Harvest during the third week of October, in small boxes, with 100% of the stems in fermentation, but with the grapes crushed (not whole). Fermented in a small 3500 liter cement tank, imitating the temperature peaks typical of fermentations from the last century, without added yeast and pressed in the cement tank itself. Aging for 19 months in a cement tank.
