PREPARATION
Teeling Blackpitts is the Dublin team's first peated single malt. Blackpitts is named after an area just behind the distillery, which turned out to be quite well known for its maltings. This expression is triple distilled, which the distillery says helps bring out the barbecue smoke elements of the whiskey's flavor profile. It was aged in a combination of bourbon and Sauternes barrels, which helped bring some sweetness to this peat-based delight. Located in the heart of historic Liberties, a city steeped in whiskey history, Teeling Whiskey Distillery opened its doors in 2015 as the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years. Since opening, Teeling Distillery has won over 20 awards including 'Best Visit in Ireland' at the 2019 CIE Awards and 'Sustainable Distillery of the Year' at the 2022 Whiskey Icons Awards.

Nose:
Barbecue smoke and clove intermingle with fresh notes of caramel and orange peel.
Mouth:
Fruity flavor, full of pineapple, pear and apricot, but also spicy notes, lots of wood, salted caramel and a pleasant smoke.
