Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 50% Tempranillo and 50% Garnacha.
To prepare the Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura 2018 red wine, a selection of clusters and maceration are carried out before fermentation to extract the aromas and colors. The two varieties are fermented separately to obtain different nuances. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak vats in contact with lees and is aged for 15 months. The vineyards from which the grapes used in this wine come are spread over two areas: Ábalos provides Tempranillo and Tudelilla provides Garnacha, with an altitude of over 700 meters, which provides the fruit with freshness and elegance. The 2018 harvest was an early vintage, with a cold and rainy winter, a cool spring and a warm summer. The precipitations of September and October helped the complete physiological and phenolic development of the clusters. The harvest had a production 10% above the average and began at the beginning of September.
