Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select Whiskey comes from a single barrel individually hand-selected by the Jack Daniel's master distiller and his team of master tasters for its unique, smooth and aromatic flavor. PREPARATION
The barrels selected for Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select come from the upper levels of the cellars that dot the hills surrounding the Jack Daniel distillery. The great temperature variations that this part of the cellars experience throughout the year result in barrels in which a whiskey with an unusually bold and intense flavor develops. Jack Daniel's whiskey is made with spring water, which lies at the bottom of a cave more than three kilometers deep, and a mixture of corn, barley and rye. It is then distilled in a large copper still where it is vaporized and condensed only once. It is filtered drop by drop through three meters of saccharine maple charcoal to obtain its characteristic softness and matured in self-made barrels where it arrives raw and colorless. Years later, it will offer a beautiful amber color and its rawness will become soft and complex. It is ready when the brand's master distillers indicate it is ready based on its appearance, aroma and flavor. The best barrels (less than 1%) are selected to be Single Barrel.
TASTING
View: Dark amber color.
Nose: Aroma of ripe fruits combined with lightly toasted oak notes.
Mouth: Delicate notes of vanilla and caramel at the beginning that give way to intense nuances of pepper. Pleasant and persistent finish.
