La Vicalanda Reserva 2016 75cl.
The name La Vicalanda originally comes from a small 10.5 hectare farm owned by Bodegas Bilbaínas. La Vicalanda Reserva, this red wine, a pioneer of “High Expression” wines, is made from a selection of the best grapes from our own vineyards. Maximum expression of the “terroir” of one of the most privileged areas of the D.O.C. Rioja, Haro. This red wine is the ideal companion for the best meat dishes, especially the local specialty: roast lamb. It is also, without a doubt, a good ally of cured or parmesan cheeses, ham, game and venison, legume dishes or meat rice dishes. Prizes and scores:

Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 100% Tempranillo. At the time of the harvest of La Vicalanda Reserva a careful selection was made in the vineyard to bring only those grapes with optimal ripening conditions to the winery. The harvest is carried out manually in 15kg boxes, which are kept cold (4oC) 24 hours before manual selection. After this selection, only the best grains are cold macerated prior to the beginning of alcoholic fermentation. Alcoholic fermentation takes place for 10 days at 28oC, after which maceration is carried out with the skins for at least 2 more weeks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occur spontaneously thanks to the action of the indigenous microbial flora from our vineyards. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrels, where it subsequently aged for 14 months. Allier French oak barrels are used, a minimum of 50% new. During this time, the wine was racked several times to clean it naturally and avoid further treatments. The wine is aged in the bottle for a minimum of 24 months.
