Legaris Crianza 2019 is the most representative wine of Bodegas Legaris. Wine made mainly with the Tinto Fino variety and a small contribution of Cabernet Sauvignon. It demonstrates that the balance between the uniqueness and complexity of the Ribera del Duero is possible and to do so it starts from 7 different geographical areas whose grapes are processed separately. The balance between terroir, fruit and oak is the objective at Legaris Crianza, and it has been achieved in successive vintages by reducing the weight of the barrel in the final wine. Perfect pairing with Castilian lamb, spoon dishes, meat stews and semi-cured cheeses.   Prizes and scores:

Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: Tempranillo 90%, Cabernet Savignon 10%. The grapes were quickly moved to the winery to maintain their qualities. After destemming, the berries arrived practically whole in the stainless steel tanks and the different origins of the grapes were processed separately. Pre-fermentation cold maceration (10oC) for 3-4 days in order to extract aromas and color and the temperature is allowed to progressively increase. The wines started alcoholic fermentation naturally and to express the typicality of the different terroirs they carried out it with their own native yeasts. Fermentation temperatures range between 26 and 28ºC. The average barrel aging has been 12 months in selected Bordeaux barrels in a proportion of 50% fine-grain French oak and 50% American oak, in both cases with 20% new barrels.

TASTING

View: Its cherry red color is of notable intensity and with violet edges.

 

Nose:

Among its frank and intense aromas, nuances of vanilla and coconut predominate, testimony to the aging in oak wood.  

Mouth: Tasty, lively, well structured, long and with intense aromas in the mouth.

  The recommended consumption temperature is 16 ºC.
