Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo and Graciano.
To make the Ramón Bilbao Gran Reserva red wine, a selection of grapes from old vineyards with specific characteristics of acidity and pH was made. The grapes remained in cold maceration for 7 days and controlled fermentation for 8 days. Subsequently, it was in contact with the skins for 9 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in concrete tanks and was aged for 30 months in American oak and 48 months in bottle. The grapes used come from vineyards over 60 years old located in Rioja Alta, in the towns of Ábalos and Labastida. In Ábalos, with sandy soils decomposed from the bedrock. In Labastida, early ripening with sandy and alluvial soils.
TASTING
View: Deep maroon color, shiny and with the presence of tears.
Nose: Aromas of ripe fruit of blackberries and plum with hints of cherry, also of aromatic herbs such as rosemary. There is a marked presence of barrel, notes of Maria biscuit and nougat combined with roasted and cocoa with a touch of leather.
Mouth: Long, persistent and with volume, with the presence of acidity and tamed tannin.
Recommended temperature: 17-18ºC.
